"WOW, WOW, WOW! What a fantastic cottage and a superb base for seeing the best of the West!"

First time at the cottage with my daughter + our 3 dogs.  Loved the garden, fields + nearby beaches to run their energy off. Fantastic hosts - nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely come back again.

We have had the best time! The cottage is cozy + welcoming.Andris and Miriam cannot do enough to ensure we had a stress free relaxing time. The cottage garden, fields are just tailor made for 2 very excited doggo's. Our first time here but we will be back. Bye bye Jedi [resident dog]. Thanks for everything.

Back again!  Wonderful week although the weather was "challenging" at times. Didn't stop us getting out & about with our 3 girls. Thank you for the welcome pack, very much appreciated by us & the girls. Your hospitality is second to none!! Everything we could possibly need. Thank you.

What can I say??  What a wonderful find. The cottage has everything & more you could ever want. The fact we could relax with the dogs made us have a wonderful holiday, The beautiful gardens, the fields, the views, the peace.  Easy to get to lots of different places and everyone we met was so friendly - I LOVE Wales. Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday.
Monica, Alan, Mac & Poppy.
I love this place. Thank you so much for being so flexible when my plans changed. I really appreciate it. Hopefully I will return next year as Cassidy absolutely loves it here.
Maria & Cassidy.
This is our second visit to the cottage, otherwise known as "My happy place".  We couldn't wait to get back here. It's so beautiful and Mim & Andy always there to greet you. Jedi had a lovely play in the field [with our dogs]. Just wish him well as he is a bit under the weather. The weather was on and off this week but didn't spoil the week, we were out and about visiting our favourite spots. Amazing place, amazing hosts and the amazing Jedi [Dobermann]. We will be back again to relax and recharge our batteries.

This is our 3rd visit to Arwel and we will definitely be back again to this beautiful cottage. Lilly really enjoyed the freedom of the secure fields and almost made friends with the lovely Jedi! We enjoyed another walk around St Ann's Head and ventured a bit further along the coastline. We also found Green Castle Wood which was a lovely walk. We also did the Heritage Trail around St Clears which was very interesting. Thanks again to Miriam, Andris and Jedi for a great week. With love and best wishes from
Tracey, Clive and Lilly dog, Somerset
This is our second time of staying here, and it was just as brilliant as the first time. We loved it!  The dogs loved it!
WE WILL BE BACK !!!.
Ian, Sharon, Buster, Barney, Chance.
Our first time visiting Arwel Farm - and hopefully it won't be our last!!   A very warm welcome from our hosts Miriam, Andris and Jedi. :)   Everything one might need is thoughtfully provided - and a few extras. The weather was really kind for our weeks stay stay, and it only helped to show off the wonderful beaches and Welsh scenery at its best. Our 2 Elpida rescue woofs Tess and Cooper had a fabulous time - they love a beach.   And even on our last day when I managed to injure my back - and decided a restful day at the cottage, - was spacious and fun, and with views to die for. Thank you.
Laura, Tim Cooper & Tess.
A perfect stay in a beautiful location & great that our four English spaniels had the run of Miriam & Andris fields. The dogs & us have enjoyed some beautiful beaches - Tenby South Beach& Newgale. Our favorite walk was at National Trust's Stackpole- a good round walk from Stackpole Quay on coast taking in fields, beach, fresh water with masses of [water] lilies lunch at St. Govans @ Bosherston & back to the Quay for a cuppa. The dogs loved the settee & spacious garden & amazing view for us, whatever the weather!. Thank you Andris & Miriam. Richard & Jenny, Tilly Purdey, Cassie & Evie.
Thank you so much Miriam & Andris and not forgetting the gorgeous Jedi ♥ for making our holiday a perfect one. We had an amazing time. Our home for the week was very homely and our 3 dogs LOVE it. So much space indoors for them to play in with their toys. Zena our pup played more with the ones you gifted than the ones we bought with us lol. The VIEWS are amazing. Not many properties have a 'Loo with a view'. Our Lurchers LOVED the secure fields that you have. Balou enjoyed it the most by rolling in something that he shouldn't have haha! Dogs will be dogs. We visited many places. Pendine, Laugharne, River Taff, Aberfan, Saundersfoot, Llansteffan, Wiseman's Bridge,Fishguard, Newgale, Solva, Kidwelly Castle, Saint Davids, Porthclais, Some of these we went to twice because they were so pretty. We bought loads of items from the bakery at Sancler on Andris' recommendation and Andris we bought 2 "thingies" that you said were yummy and yes, they were. What a fabulous couple you both are. You BOTH made our holiday. Thank you Jedi for my kisses "lots of" on our last night. Sorry for making him giddy in your kitchen, just can't help myself with dogs, Love them. Balou, Simba and especially little Zena  loved having a run on our last evening.
See you all in a few years.

Lost count on how many times we've been here, let's just say quite a few!! Always a relaxing week with the stunning panoramic views around the cottage. Miriam, Andris, and Jedi are superb hosts and have become good friends too. The dogs absolutely love it here and we've bought a few over the years! 5 at one time! Thank you so much and thank you for welcome pack too!

Already looking forward to our next visit... Lots of love.

Neil, Steph, and Rosie, Pepper and Frank xxx.

Thank you for a warm & friendly welcome. The cottage fully met our expectations; dogs & humans! A very relaxing and comfortable place to stay, beautiful views & Countryside. We went to Pendine, Wiseman's Bridge, but best of all for us was was Freshwater East, very dog friendly, all year round too, the pub nearby, Freshwater Inn, serves great food & dogs allowed inside too. Everyone happy! Bella thoroughly enjoyed the [cottage] garden and it was great being able to relax knowing she was safe.

Jill Geoff & Bella.

Great place for a dog holiday.

Thank you for your hospitality, advice & directions on great places to visit.   We went to beaches at Freshwater West, Pendine, Newgale (Best), and Laugharne. Carew castle good. Narberth is a great little town for cakes, restaurants, shops & antiques. St. David's, & Porthgain worth visiting. Solva really nice bay.

Steve, Mary & Ben, Pepper & pip.

Thank-you for such a warm welcome and for being so friendly and helpful.

We have had a wonderful week, we love the cottage, the garden, the fields and the views. The beach at Pendine and the secret beach have probably been our favorite places. We enjoyed visiting Saundersfoot, Wiseman's bridge, Laugharne (our favorite) and Tenby (was too busy for us).

Hopefully next time we come it won't be a heatwave.

Maria, Billy & Cassidy.

Another great week here at the cottage, found some beautiful coastal walks, St Anne's head & Strumble head, Stunning scenery. Will definitely be back to see Miriam, Andris + Jedi next year. Lovely Indian takeaway from Elaichi. Not so keen in the fish + chips from Georges. but thanks to Miriam & Andris'  wealth of local knowledge, can highly recommend "The Shed" at Porthgain, well worth the drive there. With love and best wishes from -

Tracey, Clive +Lilly xx.

Wow,wow, wow - What an amazing place, so much to do and a see with your dog in tow. Mim & Andy - amazing hosts. Love the walks with Jedi [House Dobermann] and the chats with Andy. The cottage is just amazing with everything you need and more to feel comfortable and just like home feel - the grounds are spectacular with the stunning views and security for you to wander stress free knowing that your dog cannot escape. Basher loved getting to know Jedi and had a great time off lead in the fields We made many visits to many places while we were here - our favorite beach cove was Nolton haven, never busy and always somewhere to park. The sea was warm and the sun was shining . Our second favorite place was Llys-y-fran country park - amazing 6.2 mile walk through woodland and stream and stunning views of the lake.  Thank you for such a special week. We will be back - worth every penny. Thanks, love.

Barney Libby & Basher.

Everything you need for a relaxing break. Comfortable cottage, beautiful location & fabulous hosts.  Thank you Miriam & Andris for your warm welcome and vast local knowledge. One week isn't enough to explore everywhere. We'll definitely be back! Thank you.

Karen, Adrian + dotty.

This cottage does exactly what it says on the tin - which is to provide a wonderful, relaxing, and in particular, a dog friendly holiday. It is also the only place we have ever stayed with a sensational view from the toilet seat!!  There is everything at the cottage you need, but if you want to venture afield, we loved Llansteffan beach, Ferryside & Pendine. We also had a wonderful day at Carew castle & Tidal mill. Rievaulx & Cedar [collies] loved the use of the fields and the space to run freely and explore. Thank you to Miriam & especially to Andris for making us so welcome & for the local 'on the spot' knowledge. I enjoyed our chats.  This without doubt is the best place we have ever stayed & sad to go home, but wonderful memories!! Thank you.

Stu, Steph, Rievaulx & cedar.

A dogs paradise, Daisy was in her element.  She loved the walks and enjoyed Pendine sands chasing  after her ball. (We liked it too) Thanks to Miriam and Andris they are really great hosts, can't do enough to help and very informative - Definitely be back.

Steve, Sue and Daisy dog. Kent.

Great week, lovely location and the cottage has everything you could ask for. Billy was very much at home on his favorite sofa and loved running around in the field. Great beaches and scenery, Hope to come back and explore some more, Thanks.

Gervase, Nicky & Billy

We have had an amazing doggy break in this beautiful cottage, thank you to the great hosts & Jedi! Our dogs have absolutely loved the freedom to run around and explore. Miriam & Andy couldn't be more helpful, we hope to be back soon.

2021

Lovely relaxing week as intended for us and the dogs!  Think this is probably one of the most 'dog friendly' places we have stayed. Floodlit garden perfect although our old girl struggled with the slope but coped. Luckily we bought runners for the laminate in the kitchen as it's not good for greyhound feet but we were aware of that.  Great hosts! The hounds enjoyed a bark-off with Jedi x.  Recommend Colby woods, Llansteffan beach and especially Ferryside if you need more quiet places with your dogs.  “Food tree” in the village has great vegan options as did the cafe@ Colby woodland garden. Thank you!! Karen & Toby. Rowan, Eric & Marvin [Greyhounds].

Lovely well situated cottage with fields which were perfect for off lead exercise for our pup "Elsie" whose recall is questionable at best! Beautiful garden with room for all our girls to run around. Lots of great things locally for us dog mad people. We went to Pendine beach, Llansteffan beach & Castle. Mynydd Maur woods (which is lovely if your dogs like space from other dogs), Colby gardens, Pembrey country park / Cefn Sidan beach & Wisemans bridge. We didn't like Wisemans Bridge for our old girls legs as she is a keen swimmer but lots of rocks to step on and a busy road to negotiate and get down to the beach.  The cottage had all the amenities you could need and the log burner is especially lovely. I just wish the beds were more comfy* although the dogs had no complaints. Welcoming hosts & very knowledgeable of the local area, Thank You.    Lisa & Pat(& the gang) 4 x Labradors Elsie 5m, Dolly 7y, Betty 3y, & Gracie 10y.
[* Perhaps you didn't find the mattress topper at the side of the futon!]

Had a lovely relaxing week. Particularly enjoyed Pendine, Laugharne, and Colby woodland gardens Fish & Chips from George's are not to be missed! Dianne & Will the whippet.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the cottage which was so cosy and dog friendly. A wonderful location from which to explore all the towns and beaches in the area.   Our one year old black Labrador, Bonnie, has had the time of her life running around the lovely garden and having the luxury of big fields to roam around.  It's been a very relaxing and refreshing week. Thank you to Miriam and Andy for making us feel so welcome. Jo, Collin & Bonnie.

A lovely week in a truly dog friendly cottage and grounds. We visited many dog-friendly beaches, and the beautiful Bosheston lily ponds and Broad haven beach, not to be missed. Thank you Miriam and Andy our hosts. Phil and Sue with Maggie, Jack and Frank (The Pack). Pontypool.

We had a lovely week, the cottage is great& so well set up. We visited Colby woodland garden which was lovely but very busy with lots of dogs & people. Had a lovely walk around Mynydd Mawr woodland park. Very peaceful  & meet some lovely people to chat to on our walk especially the two ladies on horseback who took the time to let Lilly our nervous dog look at their horses from a distance that she was comfortable with. After a drive around the coast & discovering that dogs aren't allowed on the beach at Newgale until the end of Sept we found this lovely little place Port Clais with a little refreshments unit? that did sandwiches cakes & coffee etc.  We would love to come back again & explore some more of the area. A big thanks to Miriam & Andris for making us so welcome.  Tracey, Clive & Lilly. Taunton Somerset.

Lovely warm and comfortable cottage. Everything you need for a relaxing weekend. fabulous for the dogs plenty room to roam about. Had a lovely time. Miriam and Andris are lovely host.  Couldn't wish for better. Hope to be back next year. Nigel, Mel. Baily & Poppy.

An absolutely fantastic welcome from Miriam & Andris+ the gorgeous Jedi. The cottage is fantastic & I will definitely stay again. Whisper and Jedi had a good shouting match together. A fab enclosed field = perfect.  Gill Griffiths, Pete & Whisper.

A wonderful cottage with magnificent views and a very warm+ relaxed welcome from Andris, Miriam& Jedi! Pickles loved the fields and exploring all of the dog friendly beaches. We recommend: Pendine beach (Sat/Sun as fully open), Wisemans Bridge and walk to Amroth when tide is out. Newgale, Solva and St. Davids were wonderful. We recommend the Corvus in St. Clears for Sunday lunch and Bombay Spice for the best curry. It's quiet here and the break we all needed. Ruth, Stu, Ed & Pickles.

Fantastic cottage, stunning surroundings Holiday cut short due to van trouble. Miriam, Andris & Jedi are fantastic hosts, so welcoming. Thank you for all your help too!  Vickers family & the 3 Giants.

A big thank you for a lovely warm welcome.  The weather was great, nice & sunny. Nice relaxing holiday. Great info on best place to go. Ben enjoyed the fields and beaches. Will love to come back. Thank you. Maurice & Ben. Witney.

Well amazing 2 weeks of total rest and relaxation. Dogs loved the fields to run in. Can recommend the White Lion[pub] in Pwll Trap(St. Clares [sic] )for Sunday lunch, they also do take-out. Well, Miriam and Andris thank you so much for your hospitality. Dogs loved it. Ann & Tom, Greyhound mafia Delboy, Gemma, Grace.

A superb cottage, everything you could ever need for our 4-legged ones! So relaxing. Miriam Andris & Jedi [Dobermann] most welcoming & informative on dog friendly beaches! Broad haven, Little haven, Laugharne & Marloes, St. Brides (stunning!!). Coastal walks a dream. Will return when we don't have a pregnant pooch to do more walking. The Savoy Inn good food but had to order by APP. A Challenge for us!! Fox & Hound & Llanboidy good too.Oh, Wisemans Bridge pub great but no food outside at the moment. If you want a table inside anywhere, book well in advance. [Due to COVID restrictions]. Will return. Jim, Janet. Cayla, Kitty & Chilli.

We particularly liked Llansteffan Beach – loads of room for six mad dogs, even when tide was in. Easy to walk down to dog friendly section even when parked at the top end. Lots of room to park and free. All the red kites made it feel like home! Thanks to Miriam and Andris for making us feel so welcome and being so helpful. Sorry we have to go. Had a wonderful week here with the tribe! They all loved it. They loved running around the garden and the fields. It was lovely just to sit out in the sunshine and watch the Red Kites hovering around and we also saw the partial lunar eclipse. Very dog friendly. Well what more can we say about this wonderful place and owners. We love it so much here we have been staying here over the last 3 years so I've lost count of how many times we've been welcomed here with open arms from Mims and Andris. They are the most helpful and lovely couple you could ever meet. We have been to Pendine, Barafundle, Devils Bridge, to name a few places. We love Wales and are looking to live here one day! Thank you for our welcome pack and the dogs treats. There are so many places to go and Mim and Andris can advise on any good places worth a visit.
